In Sweden, EHS is classified as a disability and health care facilities are available to support electro hypersensitive individuals. The Canadian Human Rights Commission report also acknowledges environmental sensitivity attributed to electromagnetic exposure. (28) Researchers estimate that approximately 3% of the population has severe symptoms of EHS, and another 35% of the population has moderate symptoms such as an impaired immune system and chronic illness (Havas, 2007).

Because EHS is an environmental sensitivity, avoidance of triggers is essential in preventing symptoms and regaining good health. Like other environmental sensitivities, EHS presents with a variety of symptoms and it is common to have overlapping conditions. For instance, Multiple Chemical Sensitivity and Fibromyalgia, among other illnesses, are common in people with EHS and severity of symptoms in people with Multiple Sclerosis, Diabetes, Autism, Lupus and various other illnesses have been shown to be exacerbated with exposure to electromagnetic fields (EMF) and abated with mitigation of the EMF source(s).

If you or someone you know feels that they have become electrosensitive from over-exposures to electromagnetic fields and require help, then talk to us to do an assessment survey in your environment.

EMF Health Risks.jpg

The invisible world of Electromagnetic Radiation (EMR) from electromagnetic fields (EMF), electric fields (EF) and radio frequencies (RF) can be measured so we can know our radiation exposure. The higher the frequency, the higher the energy fields, while power refers to how strong the radiation is.  Although the word "high" may sound more significant than "low", even at very low levels of energy and power, low-energy non-ionizing radiation (such as is emitted by your computer, cordless phones, household appliances, lamps, WiFi router, cell phone, wireless utilities meters, baby monitors and power lines) can, over the long term, result in significant Health Effects.

We often get asked, "Where should I first reduce my radiation exposure?".  It is crucial that our sleep area is free of man-made EMF's in order for cellular renewal, detoxification, REM, and other health-essential processes to occur. This is true for fetuses, children, and adults; pets too. An immediate way to reduce your exposure is to remove cordless phones from your home,  unplug computers, television sets or any electrical appliance that may be in your bedrooms, switch tablets and cell phones to airplane mode before going to sleep and ensure your wireless router is as far away from the bedrooms as possible.

The next place to reduce exposure is where we spend the most time while awake, such as at our workplace. Those more sensitive and prone to radiation health risks are pregnant mothers and younger children in daycare centres and schools. Your EMR survey will also reveal other sources of radiation, such as outdoor electrical fields from power lines, wireless utilities meters and radio frequency fields from base stations on telecommunication broadcasting towers.

Electromagnetic Radiation refers to the process in which energy is emitted as particles or electromagnetic waves which pass through a medium such as our bodies or a space in our environment. Radiation is commonly divided into two categories; non-ionising radiation and ionising radiation:

Non-ionising radiation generally refers to radiation at the lower energy end of the spectrum e.g. radio-waves, micro-waves, infrared and visible light. The use of non-ionising radiation is common in all workplaces and the home due to the widespread use of wireless radio frequencies (RF) transmission devices.

Ionising radiation refers to radiation with sufficient energy to cause chemical changes to materials that are subjected to it, including human tissue and DNA.

The controversy with existing Public Health Standards (Safety Limits)

In regard to the dangers of wireless radiation, many people will ask: “Where is the evidence?”  This question arises because people rationalize their use of a toxic technology for convenience or they are not aware of ongoing research studiesThe biological effects of EF, EMF, ELF  and RF radiation exposure are compounded as they accumulate over time. Thus, if one is not feeling any negative effects using their cell phone or living in a home with wireless devices, it is easier to justify their use, however health issues can and do manifest over a period of time especially for EHS sensitive individuals.

The BioInitiative Report 2012 - 2019 published by the BioInitiative Working Group highlights the health risks associated with exposure to Radio Frequency (RF) and Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) EMFs. The report, which documents over 2000 research studies, warns that mobile phone users, young children, parents to be, and pregnant women are particularly vulnerable to the associated health risks and calls for updated and stricter safety standards to be put in place. The purpose of this report is to assess scientific evidence on health impacts from electromagnetic radiation below current public exposure limits and evaluate what changes in these limits are warranted now to reduce possible public health risks in the future.

Doctors, Scientists, Parents, Teachers, Leaders, the Public and others are calling out to the Wireless and Electronics Industry in particular, the 5G supporters to apply "The Precautionary Principle". Since the scientific community has clearly validated a plausible health risk, Adopt a policy of social responsibility aimed at protecting the public and environment from further harm of wireless radiation.
